About Heritage Demolition
We carry out dismantling and decontamination work and return a clean site to the client. We also undertake earthworks, trial holes and site investigations and give the client a conceptual model for his project as required.
Cairns Heritage Homes Group of companies are providing a first class service to the construction industry. We are comprised of five companies, Cairns Heritage Homes, Heritage Roofing and Scaffolding, Heritage Demolition and Heritage Joinery.
Our Projects
As demolition contractors, we have worked on a variety of projects including high-rise steel structures, heavy reinforced-concrete structures, factory buildings, chemical and pharmaceutical facilities, a variety of manufacturing and processing plants and large storage tanks.
We plan our projects with great care and give detailed statements of risk assessment when tendering. We consult structural engineers and technicians as required to carry out the safest possible dismantling of structures. Our concerns for safety, teamwork and attention to time-scales agreed with customers are paramount.
Bearing in mind current concerns for the environment, we take account of the need to maximise the quantity of materials to be salvaged for recycling. Again, this requires careful planning for individual projects in order to ensure the segregation of different types of material at each stage of our work.
Legislation
We observe and apply all the provisions of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and Health and Safety at Work Act 1994. Our files for these two bodies of legislation are kept under constant review and are promptly up-dated. Upon completion of the works, we submit our comprehensive Health and Safety file to the customer.
Our work is carried out to British Standard 6187 (2000), which lays down best current practices for the demolition industry in respect of working methods and the management of safety on site. We are a Member of Construction Line - a body which vets contractors and monitors standards of work as well as promoting proper insurance covers and the ongoing training of operatives.
